The text-guides by Xavier Acarín, David Armengol, Cèlia del Diego, Carles Guerra, Sofia Lemos, Valentín Roma and Patricia Sorroche will be available on BGW website so that anyone can follow their “walks” at their own pace.

ARCO GalleryWalks
With the support of ARCO Foundation, Barcelona Gallery Weekend 2024 offers the free guided tours ARCO GalleryWalk: 14 itineraries to the 27 galleries in which gallerists and artists will present their exhibitions for those attending. On Sunday September 22 and Saturday September 28.

BGW Familiar
Four active visits for families with children in two of Barcelona Gallery Weekend galleries, in which participants will be invited to reflect on what they see through questions and games. On Sunday September 22 and Saturday September 28.

Professional programme
Special gatherings, exclusive tours by local curators, private collection & artists studio visits, among other events, aimed at collectors and art professionals for networking and getting to discover Barcelona’s scene.

Acquisitions programme
Addressed at private companies and foundations that commit to incorporate artworks from the participating galleries into their collections. First three participating entities:

Fundació Vila Casas, faithful to this initiative since its first edition in 2017, has confirmed its participation in the eighth edition of the programme. This non-profit institution was founded by Antoni Vila Casas (Barcelona, 1930-2023) in 1986 to promote Catalan contemporary art, and currently holds four exhibition spaces in Catalunya.

Joining this edition for the first time is Fundació Sorigué, which builds up one of the most important contemporary art collections in Spain with more than 450 works by national and international artists. The collection is housed in the museum of Fundació Sorigué in Lleida (Catalonia), where, in addition to the permanent collection, temporary exhibitions are programmed focusing on promoting contemporary artistic creation.

Also taking part for the first time is Fundació Úniques, created in 2023 with the aim of promoting the work by women artists based in the Països Catalans, and collectionism as a way of contributing to the preservation of contemporary art.
