Artévete
The main new highlight in the Barcelona Gallery Weekend 2018 offering is the Artévete programme, the result of the need to foster bringing the art market into closer contact with galleries, which will be articulated in the form of networking events, visits and social activities involving chats by sector experts bringing their personal experience to bear.

With the collaboration of the online platform KOYAC.

BGW Village
Another novelty this year is the creation of a polyvalent space called Village, that will function as meeting point and chill out during the five days. Open to the public at large, BGW’s Village will be sited in an emblematic building in the city center.

Compositions and the Acquisitions programme, two strong points of the festival
Compositions
, curated for the second time by Glòria Picazo and Alexandra Laudo, will gather site specific interventions in unique places of Barcelona and its sorroundings, offering an alternative itinerary that encourages to explore the streets with new insight, establishing a dialogue between architecture, urban space and contemporary art.
The programme will present interventions by artists including Glenda León, Mariona Moncunill, Jaume PitarchTeresa Solar and Aldo Urbano & Anna Dot in public and private venues such as the recently renovated Casa Vicens.

A further key component of Barcelona Gallery Weekend is the Acquisitions Programme, targeted at foundations and private companies who commit to buy artworks among those exhibited at the participating galleries. Following its launch during the third edition of BGW, the Blueproject Foundation, Cuatrecasas, Fundació Vila Casas and LA PLACE_ARTSPACE show their confidence in the event by confirming they will take part in this year’s programme.
