Program
This year’s festival features over 150 public events that will take place in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Aalborg and Odense from May 3rd – 16th. The festival examines and communicates the relationship between architecture, the city and everyday life through an interdisciplinary program that is open to the public and reaches far beyond the built environment. This year we will be unfolding the theme Housing Homes.
Housing Homes delves into questions about home, housing and belonging: What is a home? What does it mean to be at home, to create a home, to feel at home? How do we respond to pertinent challenges such as climate change, migration, rising house prices, the pressures of urbanization, segregation, changing demographics, etc. in our ways of living and organizing ourselves?
Distinguished guests that you can meet during the festival this year include: Rafael Moneo, Jan Gehl, Anupama Kundoo, Niklas Maak, Christopher Roth & Arno Brandlhuber, Béka & Lemoine, Lene Tranberg, René Boer, URBANUS and many more.
About CAFx
The festival began in 2014 with the aim of engaging a wide audience in the exploration and presentation of how architecture affects our everyday lives. The program has grown in content and ambition and since 2015, is the largest architecture and film festival in the world. Film has been a key part of the festival’s DNA ever since the beginning, and continues to be a primary tool. In addition to films, the activities take a variety of formats such as guided tours on foot, bike or water, debates, exhibitions, workshops and much more.
