Located in the heart of the Marais in Paris, the Centre culturel suisse (CCS) aims to promote contemporary Swiss creation in France, to encourage the influence of Swiss artists in the world, and to promote exchanges between the Swiss and French artistic scenes. The Swiss Cultural Center is a branch of Pro Helvetia, the Swiss Arts Council. The CCS includes two exhibition spaces, a performance hall that can accommodate about 100 spectators, and a bookstore. The latter, designed by the Jakob+MacFarlane architectural firm, offers a rich selection of books, DVDs and CDs by Swiss authors, artists and publishers. The focus is on contemporary art, architecture, graphic design and literature. The program is resolutely centered on Swiss contemporary creation and reflects its diversity. Exhibitions, shows, jazz concerts, documentary films, conferences and debates punctuate the seasons of the Swiss Cultural Center.
