Founded in 1930, the original building was acquired by the municipal government and expanded as a museum. Since then, it has been part of the museum system of the Municipality of Montevideo. It is about addressing aesthetic diversity as a tool for social inclusion, using testimonies from the past to carry out through them a critical re-reading of modern history from a contemporary perspective.
