1202 Genève
Switzerland
Built in the late 19th century by Gustave Revilliod (1817-1890), Genevan philanthropist and distinguished collector, this palatial building houses a museum of ceramics, glass, painting, printmaking, sculpture, coins, old books, and all forms of applied art.
Bequeathed to the City of Geneva, the museum has been dedicated to the field of European, Middle- and Far-Eastern ceramics, covering a vast period from the Middle Ages to the present day, under the direction of the Museum of Art and History since 1934.
Today, the Ariana Museum is the only institution in Switzerland—and among the most important of its kind on an international scale—to offer such a comprehensive vision of the history of ceramics and glass.
