With resplendent exhibitions, Het Noordbrabants Museum showcases old masters, modern and contemporary art - with a deep focus on art of Southern parts of The Netherlands.
By virtue of Vincent van Gogh coming from Brabant, and making his first brushstrokes here, the museum places great emphasis on his legacy. As many as 12 works from Van Gogh’s Brabant period reveal his experimentation and mastery.
Since 2022, and thanks to an extensive loan of 500 artworks by international artists, the museum has been making more of a connection between the local and the universal. In doing so, it has been making its presence felt through a programme that shows daring by, for example, displaying the women in the Brueghel family, or introducing unknown artists and connecting with contemporary society. In the coming years, the museum is committed to making use of transhistorical curation to remix its collection.
