AEAULP | Academia de Escolas de Arquitetura e Urbanismo de Língua Portuguesa (The Academy of Portuguese Language Schools of Architecture and Urbanism) was founded in 2010 and it brings together more than fifty universities from Portuguese-speaking countries, spread across 5 continents. The Academy aims to encourage studies in the areas of architecture and urbanism in Portuguese-speaking territories, with the aim of contributing to the construction of a critical mass and an identity, assuming cultural and geographic diversity in Portuguese-speaking spaces. It will also seek to promote the free circulation of teachers, students, and ideas, the mutual recognition of diplomas at all levels, and the establishment of research lines in which the various associated schools can converge. The aim is to set up a communication network that promotes publications, exhibitions, and other events, as well as cross-cutting competitions, awarding scholarships for research projects and training actions in all fields, involving teachers, researchers, and students. It intends to consolidate an active culture in the artistic and scientific areas, having as its core the disciplines of Architecture and Urbanism.
