(Un)Sustainable City
September 7–August 7, 2020, 10am
The health crisis that forced us in March to reschedule the MEXTRÓPOLI Festival for September, months later, places us before an equally critical panorama. In América Latina, and specifically in Mexico, the numbers of infections continue to rise and the outlook does not present us with a close solution to the problem. This is why we have decided to move, once again, the Festival’s face-to-face activities to March 2021, hoping that by then we will have a safer scenario that allows us to enjoy the activities already scheduled, and some that may be added by then.
However, MEXTRÓPOLI is not postponed, it is transformed to continue building culture from architecture and the city. Therefore, on September 7 we will hold MEXTRÓPOLI Online, a 5-hour digital marathon that brings together great institutions, artists, architects, creators and scientists.
Among the guests are the Mexican architect Frida Escobedo; David Chipperfield; the writer and architect Beatriz Colomina; Dominique Perrault; the firm Al Borde (Ecuador); the sociologist Saskia Sassen; the Colombian teacher and politician Sergio Fajardo; and the biologist Luis Zambrano.
The event will be broadcast through the Twitter and Facebook accounts of MEXTRÓPOLI and Arquine for free. All that is required is prior registration, which can be done on the Festival page.
Join us for this extraordinary experience!
