For the upcoming exhibition Andy Warhol. L’Opera Moltiplicata (Andy Warhol. The Multiplied Works), curated by Giacinto Di Pietrantonio, that GAMeC – Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Bergamo will host from May 6 to July 30, 2017, the museum promotes #WarholTogether, a call for photographs extended to anyone in possession of original photographic images portraying them with the inventor of Pop Art.
Each photograph exists in a delicate limbo of what is tangible and what is impermanent, what is perceived and what is only imagined. Warhol traversed his lifetime sharing and participating in some of the most significant episodes of American and international history and culture. So, who was Andy Warhol? What he did do, and why?
The aim of this call is to narrate a different story of an icon and his creation through these images, giving everyone a chance to be part of the process that defines in images Warhol’s work and personality, which turned visual culture and its perception upside down.
Photographs, made available at zero cost, will be included in the catalogue published by GAMeC Books for the exhibition.
