The Fine Art programme at the Piet Zwart Institute is based on the premise that contemporary visual art is connected with a wider field of cultural and social practices. The programme connects artistic practice with the public realm of discourse and display.
Our two-year Master degree course provides an international platform in which artists can develop their practice through independent work as well as dialogue with artists, curators and theorists from a diversity of disciplines. We offer studio space and technical facilities, individual tutorial support, and an annually changing programme of thematic projects, exhibitions, seminars, excursions and public lectures that provide a framework for the exploration of issues relevant to contemporary culture
and society.
Our faculty and recent guests include BikvanderPol, Monica Bonvicini, Mika Hannula, Raimundas Malasauskas, Dieter Roelstraete, Jalal Toufic, Jan Verwoert, among many others.
