For more than 100 years, the College of Art and Design has shaped the careers of professionals in the arts. Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, our MFA programs in Photography and Visual Arts take an experimental, interdisciplinary approach to the study of art, emphasizing small seminar classes, studio-intensive mentoring, and access to high-profile faculty and visiting artist/scholars.
MFA in Photography
Under the guidance of the leading photographic artists working today, our full-residency MFA in Photography drives you to examine photographic history and the fluid integration of contemporary media with traditional and alternative photographic practice.
MFA in Visual Arts
Our low-residency MFA in Visual Arts allows you to work independently, with discipline and focus. Residencies bring you together with leading artists, curators, and critics for intensive seminars and critiques. Our national and international mentor program connects you with leading artists from around the globe.
Both programs prepare you to become the professional you want to be—not by following someone else’s approach, but by learning to see the meaning behind your own art.
