Jorge Jácome Read Bio Collapse
Jorge Jácome (b. Portugal, 1988) studied at the Lisbon Theater and Film School and at Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains in Tourcoing, France. In his work he explores the relationships between utopias, melancholy, disappearance, and desire. His films have screened at numerous festivals including in Toronto, San Sebastián, and New York, and in exhibitions at the Palais de Tokyo and the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris. His projects have won several awards, including, for Past Perfect (2019), Best Film Award in Hamburg International Short Film Festival, and Short Film Grand Prize at Indielisboa; and for Flores (2017), Grand Prix at 25 FPS, Best Film Award in Hamburg International Short Film Festival, Punto de Vista, BIEFF, and New Talent at IndieLisboa; among others. Parallel to his work as a filmmaker Jácome works as editor of projects by other filmmakers, and regularly collaborates in performing arts projects.
