Jeffrey West Kirkwood is an Associate Professor in the Department of Art History at SUNY Binghamton. He is the author of Endless Intervals: Cinema, Psychology, and Semiotechnics around 1900 and has published in Critical Inquiry, October, Grey Room, Texte zur Kunst, Jacobin, and elsewhere. He received his PhD from Princeton University and has previously been a fellow at Cornell University’s Society for the Humanities and the IKKM at Bauhaus University. He lives in New York City and Berlin.
