Christoph Girardet Read Bio Collapse
Christoph Girardet was born in 1966 in Langenhagen and lives in Hannover, Germany. Since 1987 he has been working with video, film, and installations. In 1994 he began a collaboration with the video artist Volker Schreiner, and since 1999 with Matthias Müller (Phoenix Tapes), with whom he has carried out numerous joint projects using digital techniques. Among other things, he explores the clichés of industrial cinema. Girardet has participated in group exhibitions in institutions such as the Stedelijk Van Abbemuseum (Eindhoven) and the P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center in New York. Solo exhibitions of his work have been held at the Kunstverein in Hannover and the Sean Gallery in New York.
