Caitlin Berrigan works as a visual artist, writer, and researcher. Her early works address viruses and spatial choreographies of contagion. Recent works explore poetics and queer science fiction as world-making practices through instruments and moving image. Her work has been commissioned by the Whitney Museum, Berlinale, Art in General, Henry Art Gallery, Harvard Carpenter Center, and her writings are published by Georgia, MARCH, Duke University Press, and Broken Dimanche Press.

Survivance is dependent upon negotiating and being-with toxic relations as much as chosen and desired ones. Furthermore, discerning the toxicities from the nourishments within the very same relationship is a familiar task of anguish. This is the practice of being-with the kinships we do not choose—human and more-than-human. This is the practice of living inside of contradiction and contamination.
