A woman raises her voice and gives a painful and endless speech that with time becomes more and more overwhelming. Her words leave heartbreaking and permanent impressions on the collective memory, stabbing at an old Mexican film— a celluloid that tears apart until it disappears.
Impressions for a Light and Sound Machine is presented as part of the program An Other Cinema: Apparatus and Histories, curated by Lukas Brasiskis and designed to precede the online symposium The State of the Moving Image (September 17–19).
