Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) is a vibrant center for teaching, research, and production excellence. While firmly anchored in Greater Zurich, our influence extends well beyond Switzerland to the wider international stage. We offer a broad range of degree programs and further education courses in education, design, film, art and media, dance, theatre, and music. Closely interrelating teaching and research, we provide an ideal setting for transdisciplinary projects. The Department of Art & Media offers various taught degrees in fine arts, with focuses on painting/drawing, photography, installation/sculpture, video/moving images, sound, performance, language and digitality in its BFA program and focuses in Fine Arts, Language, Curating and Aesthetic Theory in its MFA program The department includes the Institute for Contemporary Art Research (IFCAR) and the Public City Centre of Excellence as well as a PhD program (in collaboration with Kunstuniversität Linz/Austria).
