Fluxus East refers to a branch or extension of the Fluxus art movement that emerged in East Germany during the 1960s and 1970s. Fluxus was an international avant-garde art movement characterized by its experimental and interdisciplinary approach to art, often involving performance, music, visual arts, and everyday life. It was founded by artist George Maciunas in the early 1960s and had a significant influence on the development of conceptual art and contemporary art practices.
