In 2004, the City Council of Venice announced an international competition for the creation and realization of two works of art to be installed in the new building complex of the Law Courts of Venice. The competition represented the first phase in a large project for contemporary art in new architecture and was sponsored by the City Council of Venice, in accordance with the Italian percent for art law.
