Wysing Arts Centre is a charity that provides a range of programmes for artistic research, experimentation, discovery and production, out of which emerges an ongoing programme of exhibitions, public events, activity for young people, families and schools. Our large rural site near Cambridge, UK includes a gallery, educational facilities, artists’ studios, project spaces, a 17th century farmhouse, a growing collection of outdoor sculpture and a cafe. Our talent development programmes include artists’ residencies, study weeks and study days, a studio programme for regionally based artists, a young peoples’ programme and a national alternative learning programme, The Syllabus. At Wysing, we believe that art and artists have a vital role to play in society and we aim to provide opportunities for people from all backgrounds to lead creatively rewarding lives.
Wysing is part of national and international partnerships such as Plus Tate, the national Contemporary Visual Arts Network, and the Syllabus network of six arts organisations in England. We lead the East Contemporary Visual Arts Network and the project ‘New Geographies’ with nine regional partners and three Dutch partners. The project will consist of ten new site-responsive commissions over two years. You can find out more on the dedicated website www.newgeographies.uk
