American Fine Arts, Co.

American Fine Arts, Co., the NYC-based gallery of Colin de Land, sought to subvert the regime of the art market and practice in the 1980s and ’90s. A massive figure in the art scene of the time, De Land used the gallery as a center for collaboration and discourse, hosting seminars on Conceptual art and even co-founding the 1994 fair destined to become the Armory Show.
