MCBA embraces the four classic missions of any museum, that is, to preserve, exhibit, acquire, and research. Putting works of art front and center involves mounting shows, publishing catalogues, and offering guided tours of exhibitions and other related events, as well as making available all the physical and virtual tools that may be of service to everyone regardless. From people who are immersed in the art world to those who have little to do with museums, from students and tourists to young people, adults, and senior citizens—each and every expectation is provided for.
MCBA is dedicated to transmitting and developing knowledge of art among the most diverse range of audiences while emphasizing and encouraging a plurality of viewpoints.
MCBA fully embraces its role in educating culturally and visually in particular a society in which the image predominates. Its mission includes integrating knowledge of the past in a multitude of points of view on the present. A source of knowledge and an open venue, the museum strives to be a platform for exchanges, sociability, and debate.
