The “Bettina Heinen-Ayech Foundation - Foundation for Art, Culture and International Dialogue” is a non-profit foundation dedicated to the legacy of the protagonists of the Black House Artists’ Colony in Solingen.
The mission of the Bettina Heinen-Ayech Foundation is to preserve the artistic works and writings of the protagonists of the artists’ colony (Bettina Heinen-Ayech, Erwin Bowien, Hanns Heinen, Amud Uwe Millies and Er na Heinen-Steinhoff), the artistic heritage of their ancestors, as well as the friends and students of the artists’ colony protagonists and visitors to Erna Heinen-Steinhoff’s artistic and literary salon.
In addition to the foundation’s main objective of preserving the artistic work of the artists of the artists’ colony “Schwarzes Haus” for future generations and keeping it accessible to the public and to researchers, the idea of international understanding should also be at the forefront of the foundation’s activities.
