Radio Papesse is a webradio and online audio archive devoted to contemporary art.

It produces and distributes documentaries and interviews; by embracing radio as a medium and as a language, it works together with museums and cultural institutions to talk about art making and art practices today. It hosts and commission experimental sound and radiophonic works, inviting artists, producers and DJs to renew the rules of broadcasting and radio storytelling.

Among the most recent projects are: 
YASS! You are so sound, an international mentorship & training program for audio makers, 2020-present; LUCIA Festival, an international festival dedicated to the listening of radio works and podcasts, 2019-present; Hospitalité des ambiances sonores et des pratiques acoustiques at ESAD Grenoble • Valence, 2018-2020; Children of Unquiet by Mikhail Karikis, 2012-2014; Süden Radio, 2013-present; Nuovi Paesaggi Residency and Art Commissioning Program with Lucia Farinati, Viv Corringham, Mikhail Karikis, Laura Malacart, Davide Tidoni and Allen S. Weiss, 2012; La Radio a Pedali, 2011.

Between 2018 and 2020 it was associate researcher of Pratiques d’Hospitalité - Platform for critical research and political imagination, in the frame of the activities of the research unit Hospitalité artistique et activisme visuel pour une Europe diasporique et post-occidentale. Radio Papesse is member of the scientific board of the Interdepartmental Research Center for Radiophony at UNIRSM – Università di San Marino.

Founded in 2006 inside the Palazzo delle Papesse - Center for Contemporary Art in Siena, since 2011 Radio Papesse has moved its studio to Florence and is a guest of Villa Romana. It is curated by Ilaria Gadenz and Carola Haupt. It adopts the Creative Commons License and is part of the RADIA network.
