The Senckenberg Society for Nature Research is a Leibniz Association institution and for over 200 years has been involved in researching the “system earth” across the globe – its past, present, and with predictions for the future. We practice integrative “geo-biodiversity research”, seeking to understand nature in its infinite diversity and guided by the goal to preserve nature as the basis of life for future generations and use its resources to maintain sustainability. Senckenberg also makes every effort to present research results in a diverse way, above all at the three natural museums in Frankfurt, Görlitz, and Dresden. The Senckenberg natural museums are places of learning and wonder, and as open platforms they also serve democratic dialogue – inclusive, participative, and international. The Senckenberg Naturmuseum Frankfurt is part of the Senckenberg Research Institution and Natural Museum Frankfurt, one of the seven institutions of the Senckenberg Society for Nature Research.
