With its two branches located in former municipal bathhouses, Centre for Contemporary Art Laznia is an integrated space for artistic activities in Gdansk. As the leading exhibition venue in Poland, it cooperates with well-known Polish and foreign artists and promotes independent art, contributing to the revitalization of the neighborhood.
Despite of not having its own permanent collection, CCA LAZNIA offers rich and varied program that includes: temporary exhibitions, performances, concerts, workshops, and film presentations. LAZNIA 1 and 2 are much more than centers of contemporary art. Two institutions form an integrated artistic space extending from the Gdansk’s Dolne Miasto to Nowy Port districts. Thanks to our activities, Gdansk gains a new visual setting in the form of artistic installations and attractive educational activities with the participation artists and citizens.
The CCA LAZNIA Residential Program focuses on inviting Polish and foreign artists and curators whose activities are part of the program of the institutio to initiate international exchange of contacts and dialogue: art in public space, art and science. Some of the residences are focused on a specific purpose in the form of an exhibition, others focus on the creative process. The residences have different lengths.
