Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein is an open space for engaging with people and art.
Opened in 2000, Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein is a state museum of contemporary and modern art with an international scope. The new Hilti Art Foundation building was added in 2015.
The state collection of Liechtenstein forms the nucleus of the museum. It is the basis for the exhibition program and a dynamo for the educational mission. Its profile is specifically defined by three-dimensional artworks: sculptures, installations and objects. The collection is showcased in temporary presentations accompanying the major changing exhibitions of international 20th and 21st century art.
The private collection of the Hilti Art Foundation, with its emphasis on exceptional artworks of classic modernism and contemporary art, is the ideal complement to the state collection of the Kunstmuseum.
The Kunstmuseum team invites you to explore current topics from the vantage point of art. We open up space for reflection and offer a home for contemporaneity. We believe in an open mind and the principle of dialogue. The clear, spacious architecture designed by Morger & Degelo and Kerez allows space for diversity.
