The Crespo Foundation is based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and was set up by the photographer, psychologist, and philanthropist Ulrike Crespo (1950-2019). This charitable foundation supports artists and arts institutions and carries out operational projects in the fields of art, education, and social affairs. Our role is to encourage people at crucial times in their personal development and to motivate them to realise their potential.
In 2021, the Crespo Foundation has launched the new artist-in-residence programme “ArtNature/NatureArt” in Glenkeen Garden, a 30-hectare estate in Roaringwater Bay in West Cork on the south coast of Ireland. Glenkeen Garden is an inspiring garden park, that was designed by Ulrike Crespo and her partner Michael Satke. Our aim is to provide Glenkeen Garden as a place for artists to reflect on nature and the state of the planet.
Besides this, the Crespo Foundation realizes other programmes which enables artists to mature and develop (e.g. the literature award “WORTMELDUNGEN Literaturpreis”) and programmes in the field of aesthetic education (e.g. “Das fliegende Künstlerzimmer” / “The flying artist’s room”).
