Located in Amster Yard, a former 19th-century boarding house, a station of the Boston Post Road and a commercial yard, Instituto Cervantes New York started operating in 1994 as a cultural and educational non-profit.
Since then it has been a vibrant center of culture, learning and social life in Manhattan, offering Spanish courses for all levels and an ambitious cultural program of the Spanish-speaking world.
Instituto Cervantes New York offers Spanish General Courses, Children’s Courses, Intensive Courses Special Courses and Teacher Training Program.
Instituto Cervantes New York is involved in promoting the Spanish Culture from more than 20 Spanish speaking countries. Our program includes exhibitions, lectures, books presentations, concerts, movie festivals, and interview series, among others.
Jorge Luis Borges Library provides convenient access to a wide selection of literature in Spanish as well as videos of the most important films produced in the Spanish language. Also, the library has materials for the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language.
