Jeonnam Museum of Art is a local museum that opened on March 22, 2021 in Gwangyang-si, Jeollanam-do. The purpose of establishment includes establishing the art history of the Jeollanam-do region, famous for being the hometown of art, and through this process, leaps forward as a global modern art museum.
The first basement floor consists of and art gallery of about 7,725 m², a children’s atelier, and a storage room. On the ground floor, there is a lobby on the first floor, a parking lot, a cafe, an auditorium, a library, an archive room, and additional facilities such as a specialized Donated artworks. The annex building named the Asan Jobangwon Art Museum is located in Okgwa-myeon, Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do
Located at the old site of Gwangyang Station, our Jeonnam Museum of Art is working to lay foundation for a new cultural platform. We aim to enhance the potential artistry of the southern region by continuing the exitence of Jeonnam arts and move forward as an internationally advanced art museum by building a creative space for the ideas of our generation to communicate through exhibitions-researches that reflect various forms of domestic and international modern art. In addition, we are working to prepare a forum of cultural arts that forms community with province residents by functioning as the communication window connecting arts and local society.
