VIVA EXCON is regarded as the longest-running artists-led biennial in Southeast Asia. It was initiated by Black Artists in Asia (BAA) in the Visayan region of the Philippines in 1990. VIVA EXCON was an attempt to bridge the islands by linking-up art communities and provide a venue for sharing knowledge.
