Conceived as a counter-monument in 2017 by the artist Doris Salcedo in Bogotá (Colombia), Fragmentos, Espacio de Arte y Memoria is simultaneously a living artwork, a space of artistic exhibition, and reflection about multiple memories of the conflict. Its objective is not to generate a single view of history, but to make room for diverse readings that, through art, promote difficult, provocative and, therefore, reflective dialogues. This space commemoration is free and open to the public. Through a program that brings together art exhibitions, cultural activities, conferences and workshops, the space proposes a participatory reflection on the relationship between art and memory, welcoming diverse artistic lectures that re-elaborate various memories about conflicts, as well as allowing the construction of a collective vision of the future. Fragmentos is a space of the Ministry of Culture, administered by the National Museum of Colombia.
