Hours: Tuesday–Sunday 11am–6pm
The Kunsthalle Osnabrück is one of the most important platforms for contemporary art in Lower Saxony and radiates far beyond the city with its innovative and experimental exhibitions and mediation projects, which are presented both in the unique rooms of the former Dominican monastery and in public spaces. The Kunsthalle Osnabrück presents a variety of genres, such as installation, sculpture, photography, painting and video art by internationally renowned artists.
The programme of the Kunsthalle Osnabrück deals with important topics in society. Like the questions: How do we live – now and in the future? What is important for living together in this society? Which injustices are being reflected within the arts, too? And how do we reflect upon that within art and culture? How can art spaces become new models of living together? The Kunsthalle Osnabrück would like to explore these questions together with its visitors.
The programme of the Kunsthalle Osnabrück includes exhibitions, as well as art mediation programmes in the form of lectures, workshops, or guided tours by artists from all over the world. For the Kunsthalle, mediation is just as important as the exhibitions themselves. The art mediator is the conversation partner for the visitors to delve deeper into the themes of the exhibitions. And the exhibitions themselves are the place where conversations happen.
