Bonhams & Butterfields

Bonhams & Butterfields was a prominent American auction house founded in 1865 by William Butterfield in San Francisco. In 1999, it was acquired by eBay. In 2002, British auctioneer Bonhams acquired the company from eBay, operating under the name Bonhams & Butterfields for about ten years. The company now operates solely under the name Bonhams.
