PALAIS DE TOKYO
75116 Paris
France
Europe’s largest contemporary art centre, the Palais de Tokyo proposes an exceptional, multisensorial and boundary-defying experience of artistic creation that is infused with the questions that shape our contemporary world. It acts as a socially-engaged and accessible space of reflection, where dreams and imagination develop into curiosity and awareness, where contemplation and escape stimulate creativity and knowledge, and where an inclusive conception of art fuels a process of individual and collective transformation.
A pioneering and innovative institution since its opening in 2002, the Palais de Tokyo was the first art centre in France to appoint a Head of Social Responsibility in order to prepare for the challenges of the 21st century, particularly in terms of adapting to and fighting against climate change, as well as in terms of societal impact and the promotion of socially responsible models. Through its everyday operation, through its artistic programming featuring exhibitions and seasons that look to raise public awareness around key societal and environmental questions, and through its economic model, which actively involves patrons to support its ecological and social transition, the Palais de Tokyo displays a clear commitment to sustainability.
