AMACI – Associazione dei Musei d’Arte Contemporanea Italiani was established in 2003 to address the need to create a common cultural policy, in order to promote contemporary art and support the development of institutional policies tied to contemporary research.
Today AMACI unites 24 of Italy’s most important contemporary art museums. Varying enormously in size, history, administration and geographical setting, these museums jointly boast an audience of more than 3 million visitors annually.
The development and growth of the Association during its first fourteen years of activity have helped forge a dense network of relations among museums and institutions that can guarantee a continuous exchange of projects, programmes and know-how, and renewed dynamism in the process of developing contemporary culture.
