Cripta747 is a non-profit organisation founded in Turin in 2008 by Elisa Troiano, Renato Leotta and Alexandro Tripodi. Cripta747 aims to support contemporary art and research working at the intersection between national and international processes and debates. It offers an annual program of exhibitions, talks and lectures, video screenings, performances, publications, free events inside and outside its venue as well as providing studios to artists from all over the world.
Cripta747 engages with all aspects of contemporary art with particular attentiveness to research and development, offering artists a space to work and a context that favors dialogue and exchange between visual arts and other expressive languages. The different projects that have been carried out over the years have brought to Turin a new way of relating to contemporary practices, through first-time exhibitions of emerging artists as well as important historical figures and group shows relevant to the debate taking place.
This cultural policy has made Cripta747 an exchange platform, open to collaborations with leading Italian and international organisations, with public and private institutions, in order to support artistic production, mobility and the creation of an active network.
