Academy of Visual Arts (AVA) of Hong Kong Baptist University is a public institution offering degree programmes in visual arts, combining studio-based research into contemporary Visual Arts issues and sustainable service to the cultural and creative sector of Hong Kong as well as to the community at large.
As the first professional and practice-based art academy in Hong Kong, the academic programmes offers interdisciplinary study and connectivity of various formats, media, approaches, concepts and methodologies. Committed to nurturing creative and professional talents of international renown, the visual arts degree programme and studio-based curriculum linked to international exchange, current arts development and the fast-growing creative industries.
AVA operates two campuses: Kai Tak Campus in Kwun Tong, and the Lee Shau Kee Communication and Visual Arts Building in Kowloon Tong, with fully equipped workshops and studios for studio and media arts, and crafts and design, computer laboratories, galleries, as well as student studios. AVA’s Centre for Research and Development in Visual Arts was established to conduct academic research and community projects for the development of visual arts in and around Hong Kong.
