Newly established in November 2015, the Asia Culture Center(ACC) serves as the foundation where Asian cultural exchange and collaboration takes place.

With a total floor space of 156,817m2, the ACC is constructed on and around the site of the former Office of Jeollanamdo Province which is a historically important area in Gwangju known for its spirit of democracy, human rights and peace.

Asia Culture Research Institute is home to sources of creation that can evolve into new art & culture through various academic researches and discussions on Asian culture on the basis of cultural resources of countries collected and archived. Diverse kinds of imagination and inspiration sparked at the institute are channeled into creating various future-oriented results such as visual art, performance, educational programs at ACT Center(Arts & Creative Technology Center). In turn, the outcomes will be distributed to all over the world, serving as a bridge between Asia and the world.

The ACC runs residency programs for artists, researchers and engineers to participate in. The programs establish a creation platform by helping international experts of various fields such as humanities and society, culture, art, and science technology, to break away from the existing frame of work and produce, share, and develop ideas freely, centering around Asian culture and art.
