Leveraging the combined strengths of the Victorian College of the Arts and the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music offers world-class training to aspiring artists, performers, film makers, designers, musicians and composers. Guided by expert teaching and performance staff, and supported by all the academic and research opportunities a world-class university can offer, we’re setting up the next generation of creatives and arts researchers with everything they need to find fulfilling careers in their chosen discipline. Nestled in Melbourne’s thriving Arts Precinct, the Faculty stands amongst Melbourne’s major arts institutions including The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI), the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA), the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) and Arts Centre Melbourne. This network represents only a fraction of the Faculty’s strong industry connections, all of which provide real-world opportunities for our students to expand the scope of their practice and lay the foundations for a globally-focused professional future.
The Faculty is also home to the Wilin Centre for Indigenous Arts and Cultural Development. For more than 15 years, the Wilin Centre has worked with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to identify, recruit and support potential and practising Indigenous artists to study and refine their academic and artistic skills.
