JRP|Ringier is a Swiss publisher of high-quality books on contemporary art. Run by Lionel Bovier, the company has more than 600 titles in active distribution worldwide and has organized the production according to defined typologies and series including artists’ books, monographs, exhibition’s catalogues, anthologies, and books dedicated to writings by art critics and curators. It also publishes series from external associate editors, e.g. Tranzit.
Presenting to a specialized and general public a generation of artists who emerged in the 1990s and the early 2000s, as well as introducing the newest positions in today’s scene, JRP|Ringier’s programme also demonstrates an interest in remapping the 1980s and in publishing significant texts and artist still overlooked today. Working with an international geography in mind and a desire to weigh in on the current cultural debates, in the last 10 years JRP|Ringier has built a network of associate editors based in different countries who continuously review, choose, and publish artists, writers, and curators whose work, we believe, will leave their mark on our culture, such as Fischli & Weiss, John M Armleder, Isa Genzken, Richard Prince, John Baldessari, Mike Kelley, Wolfgang Tillmans, Sturtevant, or Rodney Graham, Urs Fischer, Sterling Ruby, Wade Guyton, etc.
