Established in 2000, the ifs internationale filmschule köln is consistantly ranked as one of the best film schools in Germany based on its outstanding student support, extensive technical resources, and active festival participation, including a Student Academy Award in 2012.
In cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Cologne, the ifs offers Bachelor’s degrees in Screenwriting, Directing, Creative Producing, Cinematography, Editing Picture & Sound, and Digital Film Arts, as well as the two-year Master’s program in Serial Storytelling. Several new master’s programs are currently being developed as well. In addition, several further education programs provide training in a wide variety of disciplines, ranging from Production Design to Digital Film Arts.
The school is a member of CILECT, the International Association of Film and Television Schools, and cultivates partnerships with a global network of film schools and universities.
