Founded in 2000 by artists Achilleas Kentonis and Maria Papacharalambous, the ARTos Cultural and Research Foundation served as a center for contemporary art and science. It was dedicated to fostering research and creativity, offering a space for exploration in the realms of learning, chaos, and imagination. Its unique environment—both transcendental and tangible—served as a source of inspiration for artists and scientists alike, providing a platform for both to showcase their work locally and internationally, with quality as the guiding principle.
ARTos was a dynamic, multifaceted space that organized and produced events across a range of disciplines, including theatre, music, dance, cinema, visual arts, literature, and science. Additionally, its versatile facilities were available to individuals, organizations, and other groups for hosting events, presentations, seminars, symposia, conferences, and workshops of various kinds.
In 2021, the ARTos Foundation evolved into the Artos Cultural and Research House.
