Covering over 20 acres and with 60 cultural institutions, the MuseumsQuartier Wien is one of the world’s largest hubs for contemporary art but also an oasis of calm in the heart of the city.
The spectrum ranges from fine art, architecture, music, fashion, theater, dance, and literature to children’s culture, game culture, and street art to design and photography.
Q21 provides workspace for around 50 initiatives, organizations, agencies and editorial offices working within the cultural sphere. These cover a wide variety of fields, from international film and dance festivals, indie game development, digital culture, art book publishing or design.
The frei_raum Q21 exhibition space exhibition series presents group exhibition projects conceived by international curators and with the contribution of Q21 Artists-in-Residence, among other artists. The series focuses on socio-political themes and social criticism. Admission is free.
