Bid online from December 1–14, 2016
NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore is excited to launch its first online benefit auction in collaboration with Paddle8 from December 1 (10am, GMT+8) through December 14, 2016 (10pm, GMT+8) via www.paddle8.com/ntu-cca. All proceeds will go towards sustaining the Centre’s important residencies programme and will feature donated artworks by respected local and international artists who have collaborated with the Centre’s residencies or exhibitions programmes since it opened in October 2013.
Artists who have specially selected works for the occasion include: Hamra Abbas (Pakistan/United States), Yason Banal (Philippines), Heman Chong (Singapore), Weixin Chong (Singapore), Sam Durant (United States), Simryn Gill (Malaysia/Australia), Duto Hardono (Indonesia), Newell Harry (Australia), Jompet Kuswidananto (Indonesia), Isaac Julien (United Kingdom), Charles Lim (Singapore), Ato Malinda (Kenya/Netherlands), Arjuna Neuman (United States), Gary Ross Pastrana (Philippines), Pratchaya Phintong (Thailand), Ana Prvacki (Serbia/United States), Shubigi Rao (Singapore), Arin Rungjang (Thailand), Tomás Saraceno (Argentina/Germany), Jeremy Sharma (Singapore), Sareth Svay (Cambodia), Tan Guo-Liang (Singapore), Mona Vatamanu & Florin Tudor (Romania), Tamara Weber (United States), Ming Wong (Singapore/Germany), Xu Tan (China), Yan Jun (China), and Yang Fudong (China).
The auction will also feature works by Sun Xun (China), Entang Wiharso (Indonesia) and Haegue Yang (South Korea/Germany) donated by Platform Projects Singapore for this cause.
Proceeds from this online benefit auction will enable the Centre to continue providing meaningful opportunities for future participants in our residencies programme which provides artists with the time and space to think, to create and to network. The Centre’s international residences programme is integral to its mandate and we are incredibly proud to have hosted close to 100 artists, curators, and researchers, and held over 60 public programmes that are free to visitors from all walks of life.
The auction provides a wonderful portrait of the Centre’s alumni and we are grateful that through their generous support, we are able to give you the opportunity to acquire work by some of the most important and dynamic artistic voices of today.
