New Master’s in Fashion Curation & Photography Summer Course at IED Firenze
June 30–November 30, 2025
IED Firenze expands its educational offer in the arts: new dual-campus Master’s in Fashion Curation & summer course in Contemporary Photography and Visual Culture.
Master’s in Fashion Curation: a dual-campus experience between Florence and Milan
IED launches the Master’s Program in Fashion Curation, a dual-campus course between IED Firenze and IED Milano, designed to explore the dynamic relationship between Art and Fashion. This program eliminates traditional boundaries between the two fields, fostering a creative, stimulating, and interdisciplinary dialogue.
Fashion Curators play a crucial role in today’s evolving industry, where fashion is no longer just about clothing but an all-encompassing artistic expression. They are responsible for conceiving, organizing, and managing exhibitions and installations that narrate fashion’s story. By exploring social and cultural topics through clothing and accessories, they also support and promote emerging designers.
The program equips students with curation skills through workshops, visits to archives, museums, and galleries, and offers hands-on experience in collaborations with brands and cultural institutions.
Students will attend lessons between Florence and Milan, two internationally recognized fashion capitals, where Art and Fashion continuously influence each other, creating new expressive and commercial spaces. This practical and immersive program prepares professionals for careers in exhibition curation, fashion storytelling, and artistic direction, giving them the skills to redefine the boundaries between fashion and art.
A comprehensive learning experience at IED
The Master’s in Fashion Curation expands an already well-established arts education portfolio at IED, which includes Master’s programs in Curatorial Practice, Museum Education, and Arts Management (a dual-campus program between Florence and Rome).
Summer course in Contemporary Photography and Visual Culture
IED Firenze further enriches its educational offer with the Summer Course in Contemporary Photography and Visual Culture, developed in collaboration with Studio Marangoni, one of the most prestigious institutions in photographic education.
This three-week program will equip participants with essential skills and a deep understanding of key concepts in photography, graphic design, and visual communication. Students will have the opportunity to refine their skills and gain confidence in various aspects of photography and visual design.
With a solid foundation in photographic techniques, post-production, and design principles, participants will be able to create compelling visual narratives that engage with contemporary contexts.
The course will guide students through conceptual photography, visual storytelling, and the integration of photography with graphic design. Additionally, inspiration will be drawn from Renaissance masterpieces and Florence’s rich artistic heritage, fundamental elements for developing a comprehensive photographic project.
The program will culminate in the creation of a visually striking poster, synthesizing each participant’s creative journey into a coherent and contemporary artistic vision.
