The 16th edition of the international contemporary art fair ArtVilnius’25 will take place from October 3–5 at the Exhibition and Congress Centre Litexpo in Vilnius. Widely regarded as the most important visual arts event in the Baltics, ArtVilnius invites international galleries to apply by May 30, 2025.

ArtVilnius’25 will showcase the latest developments in the contemporary art scene and foster connections between galleries, collectors, artists, curators, and representatives of art institutions from Lithuania and beyond. Each year, the fair brings together around 70 art galleries and institutions from over 20 countries and attracts 18,000–23,000 visitors of all ages.

Throughout the ArtVilnius’25 weekend, Vilnius will be buzzing with additional art events, while an exclusive VIP programme will welcome invited guests to special fair events. The wide-ranging programme will be complemented by discussions, lectures, guided tours, art publication presentations, and networking opportunities. An international jury of art professionals and visitors will select the best galleries, artists, and artworks.

Focus on collecting
For the first time, ArtVilnius’25 will place special emphasis on art collecting in the Baltic States, a long-standing but central theme of this year’s fair. This focus will be explored across all aspects of the fair’s programme.

Project zone
Hall 4 will host the Project Zone, featuring a curated section of the most compelling private and institutional contemporary art collections from Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. This year, the Project Zone will be curated by: Maria Arusoo—exhibition curator, playwright, head of the Estonian Centre for Contemporary Art, and chair of the Estonian Pavilion of the 60th Venice Biennale; Inga Lāce—curator of international exhibitions from Latvia and Chief Curator at the Almaty Museum of Arts, Kazakhstan; and Sonata Baliuckaitė—long-time artistic director and curator of ArtVilnius’25 from Lithuania.

Applications for galleries
Applications for galleries will be reviewed by a jury of art critics and art market experts who will select approximately 60 galleries to present artwork in customisable stands (30–50 square metres). Special conditions are available for emerging galleries (less than three years old) wishing to participate.

Galleries are encouraged to explore the theme of collecting in the broadest sense by presenting collections of works by one, two, or several artists.

Applications for The Path
Individual artists are invited to propose projects for inclusion in the annual group exhibition, The Path. This exhibition of sculpture, performance, and installation is a curated exhibition in which works are selected from submissions reviewed by a selection committee. This year, the The Path will be held in the outdoor area of Litexpo and works will be selected by the curators Maria Arusoo, Inga Lāce, and Sonata Baliuckaitė.

Venue
Just 15 minutes from Vilnius city centre, the 12,000-square-metre indoor and outdoor space at Litexpo is Lithuania’s premier exhibition venue. The fair, spread across three halls and outdoor areas, offers dynamic architectural solutions and excellent transport links, attracting thousands of visitors every year.

Application deadline
The deadline for applications for both galleries and The Path is May 30, 2025.  For more details and application information, please visit here.
