FotoFest announces its spring exhibition, Flor Garduño: Paths of Life, on view from March 7 to April 26, 2025, at its Silver Street Studios gallery in Houston.
Flor Garduño: Paths of Life invites viewers on a journey through 45 years of her distinguished photographic career. The exhibition showcases a compelling mix of previously unpublished images from Garduño’s personal archive alongside her more recent works.
Divided into six thematic sections—The Path of Yesterday, Ritualities, Construction of the Moment, Constructed Landscapes, Suspended Time, and Body and Magic—the exhibition highlights recurring motifs in Garduño’s work, seamlessly bridging past and present. Through these photographs, Garduño explores transcendent themes of ritual, mythology, legacy, symbolic archetypes, and the connection between humanity and the natural world.
Flor Garduño: Paths of Life presents a range of public programs, including an opening celebration with the artist and a public conversation between Flor Garduño, FotoFest co-founder Wendy Watriss, and FotoFest executive director Steven Evans at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
Flor Garduño: Paths of Life / Senderos de vida is organized by FotoFest, Houston, in collaboration with the artist’s studio and El Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes, Mexico City. The exhibition was originally curated by Ery Camara for El Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes.
