Since 2008, Zilberman has published 84 catalogues reaffirming its commitment to fostering critical discourse around its exhibitions and artistic programs. Each publication features contributions from two authors from different disciplines, expanding the dialogue between art, history, and contemporary thought. These catalogues serve as both documentation and intellectual exploration, offering in-depth perspectives on the themes, methodologies, and broader cultural contexts shaping the artists’ practices. By inviting voices from diverse fields, Zilberman continues to create a space where artistic inquiry intersects with academic and critical discourse, ensuring that each exhibition extends beyond the gallery into an ongoing conversation.

We would like to share a selection of our most recent catalogues, highlighting the compelling ideas, artistic practices, and critical engagements that shape our program. From monographic studies to thematic explorations, these publications capture the depth and diversity of Zilberman’s exhibitions, offering readers an opportunity to delve into the dialogues and research that accompany each project.

We are very excited to expand our publications to a wider community. You can explore our collection on our website, at select bookstores such as do you read me?!, Motto and Walther König bookstore along with the upcoming border_less ARTBOOK DAYS event, taking place between May 9–11 at Yapı Kredi Kültür Sanat.

Falling Reversely: Isaac Chong Wai
Texts by Catherine Nichols, Karen Cheung, and Nazlı Yayla / Design by Gürem Özcan

The Falling Reversely catalogue documents Isaac Chong Wai’s work created for the 60th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, Foreigners Everywhere, upon invitation from curator Adriano Pedrosa. The publication delves into Chong’s immersive video installation and performance, exploring the relationship between vulnerability and resilience in the face of violence. Featuring essays by Catherine Nichols and Karen Cheung, along with an introduction by Nazlı Yayla, the catalogue presents a multifaceted perspective on Chong’s practice. Nichols situates Chong’s performance within the context of choreopolitics and dance history, drawing parallels to various movement-based expressions, while Cheung examines how his choreography embodies resistance, highlighting collective action as a means of reclaiming autonomy.

Dust and Mold: Eşref Yıldırım
Texts by Ayşe Çavdar, Christoph Tannert, and Lotte Laub / Design by Gürem Özcan

The Dust and Mold catalogue, following Eşref Yıldırım’s solo exhibition at Zilberman Berlin, investigates themes of violence, identity, and memory, uncovering silenced narratives and hidden histories. Extending from Yıldırım’s family archive, the catalogue weaves personal storytelling with socio-political analysis. Featuring essays by Ayşe Çavdar and Christoph Tannert, alongside an introduction by Lotte Laub, the publication guides the reader through Yıldırım’s autobiographical works, incorporating memoirs and family photographs. Dust and Mold serves both as an artistic memoir and a socio-political commentary, offering insight into the ways historical trauma is inscribed in personal and collective memory.

Inevitable Choreography: Sena Başöz
Texts by İpek Ulusoy Akgül, Maria-Thalia Carras, and Ece Ateş / Design by Gürem Özcan

The Inevitable Choreography catalogue accompanies Sena Başöz’s solo exhibition at Zilberman Istanbul, exploring the cyclical movement of objects and their connections to time, space, and the body. Through personal archives, found objects, and performative gestures, Başöz investigates consciousness, memory, and transcendence—tracing the life of an object beyond its original context. Essays by Maria-Thalia Carras and İpek Ulusoy Akgül, along with an introduction by Ece Ateş, provide further insights into Başöz’s performative practice and the poetic interplay between movement and stillness.

Residual Entries: Yane Calovski
Texts by Monika Branicka, Ana Hoffner, and Lotte Laub / Design by Kuba Rudzinski, Studio Lekko

The Residual Entries catalogue accompanies Yane Calovski’s solo exhibition at Zilberman | Berlin, offering an in-depth exploration of his long-term research on archives, memory, and the intersections of personal and collective histories. Through essays by Lotte Laub, Monika Branicka, and Ana Hoffner, the publication contextualizes Calovski’s efforts to recover what is lost and forgotten. By interweaving personal narratives with historical terrains, the catalogue documents his process of reconstructing obscured histories, questioning the permanence of institutional memory, and addressing the fragility of historical traces.

second time with the chair: Zeynep Kayan
Texts by Mika Hannula, Lara Ögel, and Nazlı Yayla / Design by Gürem Özcan

The second time with the chair catalogue is presented alongside Zeynep Kayan’s solo exhibition at Zilberman | Istanbul, showcasing works developed during her residency at the Rijksakademie. The publication traces Kayan’s artistic development through moments from her residency and personal life. Her practice explores repetition—not only as a means to establish rhythm and tempo through movement, gesture, sound, and language but also as a mechanism for differentiation. The catalogue features poems written by Kayan, a conversation between her and Mika Hannula, delving into themes of persistence, adaptation, and the poetics of repetition, a poetic text by Lara Ögel, providing an introspective exploration of existence, transformation, and creation, and an introduction by Nazlı Yayla.
